Experts told if Russians cancel tours to Turkey

ATOR: Russian travelers continue to book tours to Turkey for the summer

Russians continue to book tours to Turkey, despite information about the consequences of the earthquake in the southeastern regions of the country, ATOR reports.

“Average daily sales of summer tours to Turkey do not show negative dynamics. Now the resorts of the republic in the organized vacationers account for 65 percent of all bookings of tours for the summer season,” the association said.

Experts noted that both on the day of the earthquake, February 6, and all the next day, February 7, none of the major market players noted the facts of cancellation of the booked tours to either Istanbul or Antalya.

The tragic events did not affect the cost of the tours. “Prices for packages, ground service and hotels in Antalya and Istanbul resorts have not changed. Neither for summer, nor for upcoming dates, neither upward nor downward,” ATOR pointed out.

The earthquake with magnitude 7,7 occurred in the south-east of Turkey in the morning of February 6. According to President Tayyip Erdogan it was the strongest since 1939. In the afternoon of the same day another one happened with magnitude 7.6. The death toll exceeded a family of thousands. The president declared seven days of national mourning, and a three-month state of emergency was declared in ten disaster-affected provinces.
