Singapore lifts covid restrictions on tourist entry

Singapore completely lifts covid restrictions on entry as of February 13

Singapore lifts covid restrictions as of February 13, no PCR tests or vaccination certificates will be required for entry, the Straits Times reports.

In addition, Singapore’s Ministry of Health has abolished the mask regime on public transport.

“The lowering of the response level from yellow to green is due to the fact that the global and local pandemic situation is stable and the disease is mild, especially among vaccinated individuals,” the publication cited a ministry statement.

The ministry also announced it was dropping its COVID-19 contact tracing app TraceTogether. However, authorities in Singapore noted that it is “useful” to keep such a system up and running. To that end, user registration information, such as names and cell phone numbers, will be stored in the TraceTogether database.

Russians can use the visa-free transit right for visiting Singapore for not more than 96 hours. They will need to show a hotel reservation and return tickets. Also a special form had to be filled out for entry, the cancellation of this requirement has not yet been reported.
